Thanks for reading, any advice would be helpful, especially about the purple(s) I also have considered kraken as I found a speed painting tutorial but I think I can add more detail with leviathan. I think I should be using scarlett red, tan, golden yellow and a red wash of some sort plus whichever purple we can figure out. The purple is the most confusing one for me as vallejo has 3 purples (hexed lichen,royal purple and heavy violet) and an ink (violet) that could be the right colour to my eyes.
The tutorials list naggaroth night, khorne/mephiston red, bugman's glow, wraithbone and a dab of averland sunset (on the eyes) as bases and carrobourg crimson and nuln oil/druchii violet as shades. I would like some advice on which colours would be best for leviathan paint scheme and/or some realistic advice on how close I can get with game colour to the citadel colours as I don't want to go crazy trying to get it perfect. I have found several paint conversion charts but they are confusing me because they don't agree on exact colour matches. I am pretty certain that I would like to paint the leviathan scheme but would like to keep my initial cost low, I plan to buy vallejo game colour paints as I have seen them recommended over citadel and they are also cheaper. I am a new starter to the hobby and have been seeing lots of nice painting guides on youtube for nids.
